One of my good friends and I decided to grab lunch at Il Colosseo, an Italian restaurant located in Bensonhurst and is known for their oven brick pizza. Their menu had a variety of toppings to choose from: eggplant, ham, mushrooms, artichokes, etc. The personal pizzas were a bit too big for us…I think we could have shared a pie. Because we planned on going to a museum afterwards, we ended up stuffing ourselves so that we wouldn’t have to carry our takeout boxes. The price for each pie costs around $10.

I ordered the ham/tomato sauce pie while my friend decided to get the artichoke/mushroom with tomato sauce pie. Fresh out of the oven, the thin crunchy crust and hot juicy toppings came out to absolute perfection. I would have to say that this pizza is as authentic as NYC can get!
